Frame/Pedestal Depth Outside (Dimensions)

Field used for fine and decorative arts collections

  • This field contains the measurement of the depth of the frame of a two-dimensional object or the base of a three-dimensional object.

  1. The outside depth of the frame/pedestal corresponds to one of the horizontal measurements of the frame of a two-dimensional object or the removable base of a three-dimensional object.
  2. The outside depth means the maximum dimension measured from front to back, along a real or imaginary horizontal line. The outside width of the frame/pedestal then means the other horizontal dimension, measured from left to right.
  3. You should generally be facing the main side of the object to measure its dimensions. Refer to the "How to measure objects" section of the Guide.
  4. This field is used in conjunction with the Unit Linear field.
  5. Dimensions should always be expressed in centimetres, except when the object is too large or too small.

Entry rules:

  1. Enter a single measurement, in real numbers.
